Hi, I’m Nicolas Gunn, Registered Nutritionist in NZ and PT. I would like to tell you a bit about myself and how my passion for nutrition started.
When I was 18 years old, I didn’t have a clear view of my career or my vocation. I was always interested in general wellbeing and sports (I played rugby myself). I even remember I was “that annoying friend” always talking about nutrition, reading about trends on supplementation, latest papers about performance, etc. But even then, it wasn’t completely clear which path to choose.
I decided to take a year off to think about what I really wanted to do with my life. I moved to the southernmost city in the world: Ushuaia, Argentina. As soon as I got there, I joined the rugby club. There I met the person that helped me accept what I always wanted to do, but maybe afraid to say it out loud: go back to my home city and study Human Nutrition & Dietetics.
And so, I did. I enrolled in Uni and started this long and amazing journey of becoming a Nutritionist. But it doesn’t end there. The human body is so complex that I never stop researching and studying new effective ways of managing food and nutrition.
Although I stopped playing rugby, my passion for sports never ceased and decided to become a Personal Trainer. Later, I also got a postgraduate diploma in Sports Nutrition.
I personally believe that it is impossible to talk about wellbeing without exercise & nutrition. Therefore, I continue learning about both and its applications in practice.
